Greg is a Principal and Lead Portfolio Manager for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. He works to maximize the investment team’s decades of experience to the benefit of all accounts, having developed Affinity’s quantitative stock selection, risk management, and portfolio construction models. Greg’s leadership is an important aspect in Affinity’s commitment to flexibility, service, and performance.
Greg’s role with Affinity spans its history. Affinity launched as an independent firm in 1992. The firm was acquired in 2007 by Morgan Stanley Investment Management. The team joined INVESCO in June 2010 when it purchased Morgan Stanley’s retail asset management team business. Greg and the team decided to re-enter the market at the end of 2010 as an independent to capitalize on the increasing investor interest in boutique management firms.
Greg brings 22 years of experience working for a variety of firms handling a wide range of clients building a well-earned reputation for his pragmatic quantitative approach to investment. Greg credits his experience as well as that of Affinity team members, who have worked through recent economic cycles of dynamic systemic change, as a primary benefit to clients today. Greg’s industry experience includes Senior Portfolio Manager and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, and Portfolio Manager and Quantitative Analyst at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO).
Greg received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from UCLA and an M.B.A from the University of California, Irvine. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Steve is a Principal and Senior Portfolio Manager for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. In this role he is responsible for the research and development of quantitative investment strategies employed at Affinity as well as implementation of the investment process. Steve developed the firm’s quantitative stock selection, risk management, and portfolio construction models. He brings 30 years of experience to his role and a shared philosophy focused on disciplined, long-term performance.
Steve’s background also includes considerable work with national and global institutional clients, corporate, and Taft-Hartley pension plans, endowments, and foundations. Over the course of his career, he has been a portfolio manager with Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, AllianceBernstein, BEA Associates, and Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), and a quantitative research analyst at Salomon Brothers. While at PIMCO, Steve and Affinity Investment Principal Gregory R. Lai developed the firm’s quantitative investment strategies.

Michael is a Principal and Portfolio Manager for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. His 40 year industry experience provides a valuable perspective to Affinity investment team. He has been involved with Affinity’s principals for ten years. Michael’s experience includes managing portfolios for a wide range of retail and institutional clients and this background is brought to bear in both Affinity’s business development and client relations activities.
Michael’s previous work experience includes Portfolio Manager and Executive Director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, Partner at La Jolla Investment Management and Chief Investment Officer at Stockjungle.com Investment Advisors. Michael also founded two investment management firms, Matrix Capital Management and Calport Asset Management and was Chief Investment Officer at both of these firms as well.
Michael received a B.A. cum laude from Amherst College and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the NYSSA and the Society of Quantitative Analysts.

Jordan is a Principal and member of the investment team serving as Portfolio Manager for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. In this capacity she is part of the team making investment decisions for clients. Her work at Affinity also includes investment operations and trading for the firm’s clients. Jordan is a primary source of day-to-day interface for many clients providing statistical data on their accounts.
Jordan brings nine years of investment experience to Affinity. Her previous work experience includes Portfolio Manager and Vice President at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, and Assistant to the Branch Manager of the Scottsdale, AZ complex of First Union Securities.
Jordan received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jeff is a Principal and the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. Jeff brings a deep and varied background to Affinity. As one of the firm’s founders, Jeff has a long history with the Affinity team, having negotiated the transaction to sell Affinity to Morgan Stanley as well as the recent buy back from INVESCO that occurred in 2010. Jeff was part of the decision to re-launch Affinity as an independent to capitalize on the increasing investor interest in boutique management firms.
All told Jeff brings 24 years of investment experience to the firm. His previous work experience includes Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, Principal at Avalon Financial Group Inc., Chief Financial Officer for Bonutto-Hofer Investments and Vice President at Security Pacific National Bank.

Steve Figliozzi is a Director of Marketing and Distribution for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. In this role, Steve is responsible for spearheading distribution into the institutional and high net worth markets. He brings more than 30 of years experience to Affinity in the areas of marketing, training, sales, and sales management in the financial services industry, including the last 17 years at Morgan Stanley.
Steve’s previous work experience includes Director of Separately Managed Accounts at Morgan Stanley Investment Management where his team raised and serviced over $8 billion in client assets. He designed many of Morgan Stanley’s training programs for the Consulting Services Division, most notably the Wharton Senior Consultant Training Program. He began his career as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch. He also managed Merrill’s Advanced Financial Consultant Training, and was Eastern Division Manager for their Business Financial Services Unit specializing in Pensions and Managed Accounts.
Steve graduated with honors in Political Science from St. Francis College in NYC, and received his Certified Investment Management Analyst designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Steve also holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Emmy A. Chang is a senior associate with Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. She brings 22 years of experience in the financial services industry to her role. In her current capacity, she performs account reconciliations and completes RFP and database requests. Emmy also assists portfolio managers with client reports. Prior to joining Affinity, Emmy was a senior associate with Invesco Advisors, Inc. and a senior administrative assistant with Morgan Stanley Investment Management. In 2007, she was part of Affinity as a senior associate.
Her experience also includes work as an internal auditor with State Street IMS West. While at State Street, Emmy trained PIMCO’s compliance team on UCITs and transitioned 36 offshore accounts when PIMCO sold its back office operations to State Street. She also assisted PIMCO with the rules and population of its automated compliance system (ACE) database. She served as a senior fund administrator with PIMCO from 1991 to 1993. Her experience also includes roles with The Boston Company and Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.

Karina rejoined Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC as Administrative Manager in July 2011. She brings more than 10 years of comprehensive administrative and operational support to C-suite executives of private and publicly-held companies. In this role, Karina is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the firm as well as the marketing and administrative support functions for the team.
Most recently she was with Edwards Lifesciences where she coordinated the annual shareholder meeting, investor relations conference, and global finance conference in addition to handling day-to-day responsibilities of the CFO’s office. Previously she worked at Cerberus Capital Management’s Orange County Office and was responsible for the office expansion.
Karina was originally hired by the Affinity team in 2007 after the acquisition by Morgan Stanley Investment Management as Office Manager. She was responsible for transitioning the newly acquired team to the corporate standards and procedures and served as the corporate liaison on all administrative issues.

Rachel Yu is a Portfolio Administrator with Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. In this capacity, she supports the Portfolio Managers with daily processes including reconciliation, trade settlement processing and managing client profiles. Her previous work experience includes retail sales and client services.
Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Irvine.
